Users review: Green Mile is one of my favorite Stephen King books, and I read it several times. I am anxiously awaiting the film version, but was concerned that the emotional impact of the book can not be duplicated on the screen. Fortunately, this wonderful story has been adapted Frank Darabont, who is such a great job of bringing the Kings Shawshank Redemption screen. He does the same high quality work with The Green Mile. The story is faithful to the book, only to lose the details that were not important to the story anyway. Casting is superb - every actor is perfectly suited to their roles and doing a great job, but I would like to part with Doug Hutchison. His show horrific Percy on track and indicates the complexity of this character not found in the book. The length is about three hours, and it seems that critics complain. I do not understand the appeal. The film never drags and never boring, and it certainly does not feel three hours. Length is not necessary to tell this story the way it should be told, and the story is so engrossing. Over all, Darabont and the actors bring so much excitement from the screen, I cried like a baby through several scenes. Green Mile will haunt you.
