Users review: Within a complex tapestry of theology and Lars Von Trier's Antichrist symbolism plums the depths of the human condition that the theater in places it has never gone and did not want to go. After the creation of the tragic accident (their son fell from a window, while love) He and his trip to Eden, a remote lodge in the woods for treatment where their lives and souls forever. Far from being a traditional horror film LVT gives us the darkest of psychological work with the shock begins to travel through the spiral of pain, despair and panic ended in ridicule. Gainsbourg and Defoe takes us there, carry the film on their great performance - Gainsbourg give everything physically and emotionally to her role as characters Defoes grip on intellectualism is relentless. With the death and depression soaking every frame of the film must be said that much of what we see is beautiful - I really can not overstate the quality of the cinematography, at the same time hauntingly evocative sound design adds much needed third dimension of evil pure ending out the job perfectly. It tells and shows very disgusting things about humanity, but does so with such purity of vision, artistic conviction that I found absolutely irresistible. It is like seeing a movie id in a hurry, but it certainly im thankful ive experienced - pushes the envelope so far in unexpected ways that can affect the film as a medium for the next year. If nothing else, I hope this has helped to restore LVTS.
