Users review: They had the opportunity to see its world premiere in Toronto tonight, where they were joined not only stars, but also Lomak Patti, wife of the real Eric Lomak, whose autobiography this film is based. The story is unique and interesting, and said with a series of flashbacks to Eric Lomak, our protagonists (Firth), the experience of WW2. As the film unfolds in a rather bleak locations (camps and dull flats), it is not the most visually exciting thing to watch, and edit / pacing leaves little to be desired - in several points, we now find Eric Lomax (Firth) suddenly transported to the camp of prisoners of war in Asia with nothing for us a clue whether he traveled there (the plan turned vouldve do), or, as in at least one case, an amazing. However, a good story and well played by Firth with the support of Nicole Kidman as his wife - even if the real show-robbers Jeremy Irvine as a young Lomax and Hiroiuki Sanada as Nagase, an interpreter you Japanese and Lomax executioner.
